How does papal infalibility work?

I understand that the pope is supposed to be infallible when he talks about faith and morals. Does that mean that what he says has to be about both faith and morals together or can it be just about one?

If its both, how is something like the immaculate conception a moral thing? I mean, how should knowing that change the way I behave?

If its just one or the other, why isn’t almost everything the pope writes infallible since almost everything he writes is either about faith or morals?
