Has anyone read this book by Marcus Grodi? I just read it this weekend and thought it was great! I’m considering giving it to my friends who are Lutheran, who support abortion, who enjoy challenging their pastor during bible classes, and who are pretty anti-Catholic.

Any experiences out there?

This is a narrow-target book but for the audience Marcus addressed it to, it is a golden arrow. I also loved it! If you are an inhabitant of The Journey Home and have heard the conversion stories of some of the clergy-converts who have appeared on that program, you will recognize some of them in the book. It is a very good read.
 
I read it about a week before I started RCIA classes. One of the best reads I’ve ever had. I would be at work during the day and suddenly think, “I can’t wait to get home and read Marcus’ book to see what happens next!” I recently loaned it to a cradle Catholic who enjoyed it because it gave him insight into how protestants view Catholicism.

I read it as I was studying the RCC before my conversion. It was great… a bit long winded in some area’s but a good introduction to different apologetics issues.

I enjoyed the book so much I purchased it on tape and have listened to it in the car several times. A similar book in the genre of apologetics fiction is entitled A Philadelphia Catholic in King James Court by Martin Porres Kennedy. It is shorter andwritten at a lower lever but a good read nonetheless.

Yes, I read that one, too, and enjoyed it. I gave it to my kids although I don’t think either picked it up yet. It did seem to be written for a younger (teen) audience. Or perhaps the author was not as deep (for lack of a better word at the moment).
 
Read it a while back. At least for me it was a page turner. I stayed up to 2, 3 o’clock in the morning to find out what would happen. Great read
