One of the many things that first attracted me to Catholicism was the leadership of John Paul II. After his death, I thought no one would have the “just-right” blend of scholarship, charisma, and pastoral authority. But praise God, Benedict in his own way is just as “right” for the times in his own blend of qualities.
(Of course, this also means that he will be just as hated by some as JPII was. Darkness quite often rejects light.)
I’m curious how well you think Pope Benedict XVI is doing so far in his Papacy. Do you have any complaints? What is he doing well at? I’d just like to know what you all think.
