How is the unforgivable sin different from other sins?

I read a thread in this area concerning the unforgivable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It seems that all the answers concluded that the sin is only unforgivable if you do not repent. How is this sin different from any other sin? All sins must be repented before they can be forgiven. All sins are unforgivable without repentance.
