In all I think of my spouse mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, sexually, how does this change with loving Jesus? It shouldn’t it should be even deeper , it should be geter than all lovers I have ever desired.

Why not, is it not true that He alone is the greatest lover I could ever have? Or am I tied to my books my humanness in thought? My position , my posssessions?
Are our mind tied to human thinking, understanding, desires?
Can We not love Jesus greater than we ever loved any other, ever?
We think of youth as the next generation to crry on the child bearing of the next generation. But do we ever think of sharing with them how we can have a deep relationship with Jesus even greater than with a girl/boyfriend.

How do we relate this love affare between Jesus and ourselves with our children, this SPIRITUAL LOVE AFARE THAT IS EVEN GREATER THAN ANY LOVE AFFARE WE COULD EVER HAVE, EVER?

I am reminded of a book “This Tremendous Lover”(disclaimer: I have not read the book), about Jesus. At first this title shocked me, but it is true. He is a great Lover. Of course not in the fleshly secular sense, but in the loving spousal sense, and He comes to us His bride the Church in the Eucharist.

Only our God could think of that. The 2 become one…

God Bless,
Bob

Pope Benedict answers this very question in his first encyclical, God is Love, and yes God’s love for mankind is both “eros” and “agape” love. find it on-line or in published form and read it, very beautiful. We reflected on this passage, making the comparison with the various books of the bible, such as Song of Songs, Hosea etc. that make this analogy, tonight at our CUF meeting. We are studying the encyclical as the study portion of our meeting.

Why is it that when we relate to the term spouse, there are thoughts of sexual conotations. Is this not the mind relating here?

Surely we can turn away from the mind and enter into ther relm of the spirit since God made us to His likeness?
