My pastor knows my work schedule…I thought about that, missing the Liturgy of the Word, and did not go to communion.

It happened again, and so I asked him at end of Mass, and he told me to go to communion.

Sure. That’s within his discretion, and he obviously has come to the conclusion that you have a good reason for doing what you’re doing. I’m happy to read that you did ask, instead of just not-receiving.
