How long in Eden?

I’ve always wondered about this. God creates man and woman (perfect) puts them in a beautiful environment and they have everything they need to live as God has instructed them. But how long do you believe they were there before they disobeyed. There is no mention of family or children or any domestic activity until after the introduction of sin. So I just don’t see how they were there for a long long time. And when was Satan and his angels cast out of heaven? why did he have to be cast down to the earth. He (Satan) ruined things. Was this prior to Genesis 1:2 and is Genesis 1:1 more of a statement of fact that God created the universe, that the condition of the earth in verse 2 was the result a cataclysmic event.
