I have recently come to the Catholic faith and I am studying avidly. This has only been since this past Easter Sunday. I was baptized as a baby in the Catholic faith, but only was exposed to it as a child with a friend’s family.

If you had told me last year at this time that I would be practicing Catholism, I would have said that you are wrong. I guess only God knew. He has been calling me and it feels wonderful.

I am taking a Bible Study course at my parish. Reading a lot and attending Mass once a week. I want one day to be able to receive the Eucharist. If my faith keeps growing stronger and I am sure, would next Easter be too soon to be confirmed?

Thank you for your knowledge…MaryLou

If you were in my parish and had been baptized Catholic but hadn’t received the other sacraments of initiation, we would steer you toward RCIA. And I would expect that you would receive your First Communion and Confirmation within the next year, assuming there aren’t any problems like marriage issues to work out first.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. My priest says that I have already been baptized, and our town is so small that the only person teaching RCIA just had a bypass surgery so I only have the pastoral associate (at the church) giving me direction and instruction. And our Father. She is a very devout Catholic. Thank you for your (name removed by moderator)ut.
