The local Ruthenian Catholic parish will be praying the Paraklesis tomorrow morning and I was curious how long it is? Thank you.

Wow… it’s at least an hour at the Greek Orthodox where I go. The similar Russian Moleben is longer than that.I just asked a Ruthenian priest, and he told me 20-30 minutes.
Might depend on how fast the priest isI went to the Paraklesis today. It was very beautiful and was about 45 minutes.
Well, it clearly can depend on how long is the list of the names the priest commemorates of those for whom the Paraklesis is sung. Just guessing, I would guess that there are typically only about 40 or 50 names commemorated in the Greek church where I go for this. On the other hand the Russian counterpart Moleben at Holy Virgin Cathedral here in SF there are probably hundreds of names prayed for. But there are several priests going through the names at the same time.Might depend on how fast the priest is![]()
If the introductory prayers are left off (as may be done when done as part of the DL), 10-20 minutes. If taken separately, 15-30 minutes. If taken with group commemorations, rather than being for one or two people, considerably more time may be needed. The local Ruthenian Catholic parish will be praying the Paraklesis tomorrow morning and I was curious how long it is?
