How long is Christmas?
I’ve heard that Christmas is twelve days long running from midnight mass through Epiphany inclusive. However, that is thirteen days. Is Epiphany not a part of the Christmas season, or is Christmas really thirteen days long?
I’ve also heard that Christmas is a day, an octave and a season that ends on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (making it 20 days long). However, all of that that runs contrary to popular wisdom regarding the “12 Days of Christmas.”
