I like three hours myself (i guess i am no longer talking about Roman Rite Mass, though i understand a Mozarabic Mass can last easily 1.5 hours). Anyway, in my hypotheticl dream-world, where the canonical prescriptions of Nicea I are obeyed by everyone*, then one can see in Latin Rite parish Sunday morning services lasting two to three hours, but of course this is not just the Mass, but also Lauds/morning prayer immediately before hand with Mass beginning at the Third Hour (i.e. 9:00 AM). I think even the current Morning Prayer from the LOTH could easily make 45 minutes to an hour, and Mass 75-90 minutes (everything would have to be chanted-even chanting the Entrance hymn, Offertory &c takes longer than the contemporary hymns that are oft sung anymore). Throw in Vespers/Evening Prayer and one has a real parochial cursus as was the case for many centuries.
