You can have as few as two, for a Mass without incence, or more if you wish to have incence, an MC, etc…Is there a prescribed number of acolytes for a Missa Cantata?

Technically only two acolytes! The other servers are not functioning as acolytes.
For a Missa Cantata the usual minimum (in emergency I have seen less):
one MC
= four severs.
Also nice to have torches (up to 6 unless it’s Pontifical). The thurifer can have a “boat-bearer” to help. If you need, the second acolyte can double as a torch. One of the torches, or the boat, or an extra server in choir, can also be crucifer.
ETA: I am assuming this is MC with incense, but of course if not you don’t need the thurifer.

I’m preparing for a Nuptial Sung Mass. I know the priest will be bring one acolyte, and the sacristan at the church will serve as another. I just needed to know if any were missing. I would like for there to be incense, so perhaps I’ll have to look into this better. The day is almost upon us!Technically only two acolytes! The other servers are not functioning as acolytes.

Does the priest know the Sung Mass well? Does the server? Because ideally one server, who will be the MC, should know things very well and should be able to help you find not just the right number of servers but ones who actually would know their roles.I’m preparing for a Nuptial Sung Mass. Yes, the priest knows the Sung Mass very well. We had to “import” the priest since none of the priests I know here in my country wanted to publically celebrate a EF Mass. As far as we know, ours will be the first EF Wedding here since Summorum Pontificum was issued (there have been FSSPX weddings, though).Does the priest know the Sung Mass well? Does the server? Because ideally one server, who will be the MC, should know things very well and should be able to help you find not just the right number of servers but ones who actually would know their roles.
