How many laws the Federal government does not enforce?

Example, the marijuana law in Colorado, the border laws, and so forth?

THANKS!

Probably lots, but in the case of CO, if the feds were to storm in and try to enforce federal law when a state has chosen to go the opposite route…well, that would not end well, probably spark another civil war. This is likely why the feds are not doing anything, but on the other hand, the feds may be watching to see what happens in that particular state to get a good idea on what will happen should legalization go nationwide.

They dont enforce border laws or illegal alien laws mainly to benefit US industries imo, if the police started cracking down on illegal immigrants, a lot of industries that depend on cheap labor would have major staffing problems, plus the feds recognize if the illegals are working and earning money, they may not be paying taxes, but they will be spending money in the US.

The number of unemployed Americans is huge.

They don’t get counted because “officially” they are not looking for work.

While they keep wages down for US industries, the illegal aliens send a lot of their money abroad instead of spending it in our economy. Since they depress wages, replace citizens, and send disposable income abroad, it’s not a sweet deal for our country.

We would be better off if the jobs migrated back to citizens. All we need to do is beef up our temporary visa programs so that specialized industries like agriculture can staff their seasonal needs.

One of the reasons I asked, OK just passed a law on abortion. If the governor signs it, what will the Feds do?

THANKS!

Yes, but all those illegal workers still have to rent apartments, buy houses, cars, clothing, furniture, etc.

They may send money back home, but they are spending a good portion right where they are living too.

Actually, the illegal aliens do not spend a good portion right where they are.

They crowd into tiny apartments, do not buy houses, drive the worst of the junker cars, do not buy clothing or furniture.

They use false ID, copying the social security number of someone else.

They send most of the money back home.

And they prevent legal citizens from being gainfully employed.

When companies get H1B visa holders to take jobs that US Citizens currently hold, then tell those US Citizens to train their replacements, and then laying them off, that violates the law.

But the government does not enforce THIS law.

If there is any law that says “you have a human right to earn a living” - that law is not enforced.
