How many?

I’d like to know how many saints are there?
Saints that have actually been proclaimed as saints by the Catholic Church.
It doesn’t have to be an exact number, just a rough estimate.

Stephen Beale of Catholic Exchange wrote a little article on this, ending up with an estimate of 921 canonized saints (as of Oct 2012). That excludes blesseds and venerables. If you include them, the number is in the thousands, according to Beale, around 8,000.

and then how many should be saints that are not…
