I tend to use only one room even If there is more space…We recently noticed that we haven´t been in our third room instead of doing choir work or searching somenting since we moved in in december 😃
Yeah, before my first was born our house (about 1600 sqft) seemed enormous. We never used one of the bedrooms or the dining room. The downstairs bathroom was really a matter of convenience or for guests. Now we use EVERYTHING.

As others have said, it’s how the house is divided. We plan to make our first floor open concept so it will be 2 rooms–the sunroom and the kitchen/dining/living. My parents house the dining/office/kitchen/living is all one room. SO much nicer. My house–as with my parents–have some natural visual dividers so they aren’t those crazy open-concept that look like a decorated airplane hanger/lobby.

It was only with our most recent baby that I realized, over six years after moving in, that we actually use our entire home now. I nurse our fourth baby in roughly the same spot I nursed my first, but with my first that chair was the only piece of furniture in that room. 😅
Now it’s a functional living/dining room (plus office.)

We have a bedroom for each of the three kids, a mixed dining room/sitting room and a living/teve/music room/library, 2 bathrooms. It’s a blessing that the teens don’t always need to be cooped up together tbh.
It’s on the large side, given that the oldest are 16 and 19, so they will move out in a few years, but for insurance reasons I can’t find a cheaper smaller house or apartment in the same area.
