How often and for how long was confession offered traditionally?

I find it hard to believe that you are just noticing this now–it’s been this way for years and years and years, at least around here and anywhere I’ve traveled to. Are you perhaps new to the Church?

The only churches that have weekday Confessions around here are the ones that belong to
religious orders.
You seem to have missed/not read my point(s). I am not questioning the Saturday confessions. Most churches I have been involved with have an hour before mass on Saturdays. I’m questioning the “15 minute” before mass on Saturday for a Basilica that is a major tourist attraction…where hundreds of people/potential penitents visit. I even went to St Patrick’s Cathedral’s website and they have much more availabiity for confession on Saturdays …2 hours before mass as well as an hour in the middle of the day.
