How often do you discuss the homily after mass ?

Our priests respond to email. I have occasionally gotten clarification on their homilies. Occasionally I will discuss a given homily with other Catholics. Every week? No. Sometimes? Yes.

I usually pay attention, and at the time often find the Homily to be very insightful, but a half-hour later I can only recall one or two basic points. That makes it hard to discuss much. My short-term memory is good enough for concrete facts, but apparently my brain uses a different filing system for spiritual truths.

Once with Father and I think possibly once with a friend some time ago, otherwise I don’t as there isn’t anyone to discuss it with.

When my husband and I get to go to Mass together (sometimes we have to split up because of baby duty), we pretty much always talk about the homily afterward. Getting to go to Mass together is the highlight of our week! Because our parish is little and doesn’t have an assigned priest, we rely on guest priests from our dioceses. And because they’re all so varied, the homilies are always very interesting to hear. (Not that they wouldn’t be otherwise. 😉) And fortunately, they’re almost always phenomenal. We are blessed with many holy and reverent priests in our area, and we love taking time on the way home to discuss the homily and readings.

I discuss it with my family, usually.

Somewhere between “almost never” and “never.” :woman_shrugging:t2:

I attend our Sunday evening 5:30 Mass and teach a Confirmation class at 7. It usually comes up.

Sometimes, I make sure I am toward the end of the line to talk to Father if I do.
