How often do you hear about the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius in Mass or the Bulletin?

There is more local interest in then with the opening of The Cloisters on the Platte , a world-class retreat facility
I briefly googled that in NE…wow…yes that looks very impressive.
Once in a while, and I have preached about the Exercises once or twice before.
How did it go?..if you mind me asking. Did you get any feedback? If people don’t know what a Jesuit is, it might go over their heads, but they may have been very interested too.

And yes…finding a spiritual director is a major challenge…it feels harder than is should be.
I was blessed to have a Jesuit priest as my director (one on one). His insights made a huge difference. I know there are options to read a book and do things on your own but it wouldn’t even be close to the same experience.

Interesting…I’d feel more comfortable with a lay person or Deacon one on one.
Would you say more? The priest I had was really gifted as a director and I’m so grateful for the time he was willing to spend on me. Others, of course, may also be very gifted directors. I guess I would be open to whoever was available but I’m not sure I would necessarily prefer one category of person over another.

Yes…this is probably a good attitude to have. It would put people at ease certainly.
