I bought the volumes of the Lectionary, and I read the daily mass scriptures every day;

I am trying to work my way through the New Testament and I ***try ***to read three chapters daily. SOmetimes I, regretfully get lazy. One question about the poll, instead of a yes or no response, shouldn’t it have some numbers like once a week, twice a week, every day?

The question gives the wrong options.

“Do you read the Bible…Yes or No” WHAT?

I read my Bibles 4 to 5 times a week. I like my Douay-Rheims.

I read the Shorter Christian Prayer of the Divine office, which contains a lot of Scripture, twice a day. I have a morning devotional with my wife where we read the daily Mass readings. I prepare a liturgical Bible Study every week (found at the link below) that involves extensive reading and crossreferencing. Outside of Lent and Eastertide when I try to spend more time in reflection and prayer, I try to make it a point to be studying a particular book of the Bible at all times. I probably read more than an hour a day, I would guess.

How often do you read the bible? YES OR NO. Is it a yes or no question?

Everyday, by the way.

Just before going to bed at night, I read the scriptures that will be proclaimed in the liturgy the next day. I like for them to be the last thing in my mind as I fall to sleep. Hopefully, they are the first thing in my mind when I awake! When I’m not to tired, I try to look up in the CCC the paragraphs that refer to these scriptures also to see how the Church views the readings.

I try to memorize scripture a little at a time also. We have to change our passwords at work every 30 days. I base my password on a passage of scripture so that I have to recite that passage in my head each time I log onto the computer! This month I’m on Heb 12:1b - “…let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely…”

Detachment this month!

Love,
Rich

I read Scripture most days, usually in bed. Sometimes I read a lot, sometimes just a little bit.

You worded this pole weird. I read scripture about 15 minutes a day. On days when I go to Eucharistic adoration I read it about a half hour. In times of distress or uncertainty I have read it for hours.

I read the entire Bible three times a year, especially the Douay-Rheims version, and this year the N.A.B.

Kevin Waker will you pray for me? Please!

That is powerful.

Also, forgive me, but how does one start a new “thread”?

Oh, I forgot to answer the question.

I read the Holy Bible daily.

I read the writings of the saint daily, too. They always help me understand the Word of God.

Also, forgive me, but how does one start a new “thread”? QUOTE]

Select the forum you want to start the thread in such as Scripture, Moral Theology ect. When your there…

Near the top, right under where it says Welcome Jim Baur you’ll a rectangular box that says New Thread with a check mark in it. (Right underneath it says Threads in Forum) Click the New Thread box. Enter the title of your thread in the title box. And more details about your question or comment in the large box. Then click submit new thread.

now please give instructions on how to word questions for a poll, at least first think about it and what you want to say before plunging ahead.

lectio divina for at least half an hour after morning prayer, currently working through Acts.
