How old were you when you…

A) Started thinking about a vocation as a priest/nun etc: for a few years when i was very young i wanted to be an nun…but i suppose i didn’t really know what a vocation was properly then. I began seriously thinking i may have a vocation but was trying to go against it when i was 14.

B) Began seriously considering it: a few months ago: 16.

C) Took major steps to go about it (i.e. contacting people): I did when i was 14 even though i did not want to be have a vocation to the religious life.

D) Decided to be a nun: Still waiting for God to make a final decision

E) Began the process: Still waiting for God!

A) I was around 6 or 7 when I began being captivated by the Franciscans at the monastery close to the tow I lived in.

B) At age 14, I began seriously considering it, and my “friends” in high school constantly balked and made fun of me for answering “I’m thinking about becoming a monk” when they would ask me what I was thinking of doing after high school.

C) At 18, neither Catholic nor Orthodox, I began looking into a Russian Orthodox monastery

D) This year, at 19, I determined that the Catholic Church is my church, and that I wouldn’t be happy as an Orthodox monk, let alone at that particular monastery.

E) I came within a week of beginning the process last month. Either way, I’ve decided to finish college first, which gives me ample time to weigh my choices and think a decisive plan through before I make any final decisions. It is, in fact, God’s decision and not mine. He must not have wanted me to be a Russian Orthodox monk, or else I’d be one already
