Title says it all. How and why?
As if it is not a dress rehearsal.
But I haven’t even been given my lines! What play is this, and why am I in it?As if it is not a dress rehearsal.
First, understand that it is your life and no one else’s. Not your colleague’s, not your mother or father’s, and certainly not any god’s. Only you know what your deepest and most sincere desires are. Why not just be yourself and just do… what you love doing? If that leads you to God, all well and good. If it leads to atheism… then you can repent and become an agnostic like me.Title says it all. Can just being myself lead to evil? If so, what then?First, understand that it is your life and no one else’s. Not your colleague’s, not your mother or father’s, and certainly not any god’s. So be evil. Try it out, and see if it works for you. If you get tired of being evil, you can opt for good again. Can just being myself lead to evil? If so, what then?
I’m actually not asking about my own life at all. I’m really asking about everyone, anyone. How should a person live his life, and why? Seems like a reasonable question for the “Philosophy” forum. So be evil. Try it out, and see if it works for you. If you get tired of being evil, you can opt for good again.
To be honest though, I sense a lot of fear in you. And if you want to truly be yourself you have to give up such fearful questioning. I think, at least.
It is a reasonable question, I think. But I think people make it out to be more reasonable than it actually is. You can’t change your basic self just by thinking. Sometimes analytical means aren’t enough to tell you your destiny. They certainly aren’t for me.I’m actually not asking about my own life at all. I’m really asking about everyone, anyone. Lines? It’s improv. You make it up as you go along. The play is ‘Life, the Universe and Everything’, a one act play. You are extremely lucky to have been given a part. Make the very most of it.But I haven’t even been given my lines! What play is this, and why am I in it?
