How should I respond to a Methodist nephew asking for mission contributions?

I am Catholic but I have a Methodist nephew currently in college preparing for a career in Protestant ministry (long story which I won’t get into). He is going overseas this summer on a chuch mission to Eastern Europe and recently sent me a letter requesting contibutions for his trip (about $4000) and if there was anyway I could help, to send a check to a United Methodist mission fund. I know he has only good intentions, but I’ve heard how some of these Protestant missions are out to convert Catholics. As I only want to do what’s right by my Catholic faith, how should I respond to him?
