This is the why Missourians are facing the Amendment II. Supposed pro-life politicians, mainly Republicans were more concerned about not hurting there base that they would not even take a vote on sb160. It was better for them, their party, and their governor to have a filibuster. This kind of cowardice makes me sick. They were afraid to do what the people elect them to do, vote!

Currently, human cloning is legal in the state of Missouri. A certain number of Prolife State Senators have tried a couple of times in the past to make it illegal. Although it was very close, the previous bill did not pass. The bio-tech firms considered such legislation a threat and went out of their way to make sure the Missouri House or Senate never did anything to change the current law by using the power of money and influence.

One must realize ultimately, it is the power of money, specifically, the biotech lobbying interests that has manipulated our constitution. So maybe, just maybe, we can agree to be both pro-life and for the public financing of elections to avoid the influence of big business.

BTW, the Senator who vowed not to let this come up for a vote, David Klindt is the Republican Majority Caucus Whip. He represents the area around Bethany, Missouri. If you happen to know anyone in the area, please make any pro-life voters aware of his actions!

Pray pray pray that we defeat this on Tuesday.
