Hi I’m hoping you can help me sort a few things out. I am a catholic from birth, and recently found my way back to GOD and the church & it brought me to tears to know that GOD was there the whole time waiting for me.I’ve been attending mass & praying regularly since, and my life has been doing a 180, and I am very thankful to GOD and very happy for this. I have been having coversations back and fourth with a coworker who is a seventh day adventist. at first this seemed to be good & healthy for both of us, and he has pointed out passages in the bible that have been helpful for me on my faith journey. It seems to have taken a turn for the worse lately, and he seems to be attacking my faith constantly. he is very book smart and seems to know the bible inside & out and he used to be catholic himself. Today he brought in a old cathecism book written long ago from boston that stated that catholics changed the sabbath from saturday to sunday, and also states that we don’t know who our angels and saints are & that we made most of them up as we were going along. catholics just matched names with faces and weren’t really sure of what they were doing. He also had what appeared to be an old catholic bible and showed me, then stated that we had removed one of the ten commandments (the one about worshiping false idols), and then pushed the rest of the commandments up. also whenver I bring up the virgin mary or the rosary he staes to me why would I pray to her she’s dead.he has not shaken my faith. I am a devout catholic and will remain exactly that. also I would fight to the death for GOD, but I don’t want to get into petty arguments over GOD. how would you reccomend that I respond to this gentleman. thanks & GOD bless you.
