Don’t be intimidated.
You are 100% correct and if these “Catholics” don’t know their own faith or decide to be their own Pope, then they are drifting far away from the Truth of Jesus Christ and are not following what Jesus taught us.
Don’t fall for the same doubts or misperceptions that have seriously eroded the faith of so many. We even have “Catholics” who tolerate the murder of innocent babies through abortion.
Right is right, wrong is wrong, period! The Truth of Jesus Christ isn’t a man made thing. It is eternal and pure and we don’t create the Truth, Jesus is the Truth.
Male Priests, celibacy, the sin of contraception, the evil of abortion, the evil of creating medical cures by destroying embryos etc, etc…, these aren’t man made rules, they are the Truth of Jesus as revealed by the Holy Spirit to His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
We may not understand or agree with everything the Church teaches, but we would seriously wrong.
Don’t let the Devil’s lies confuse the sins of the Church’s members or even some of it’s Clergy, with the Truth of Jesus Christ that the Church teaches. The Apostles that Jesus chose were all sinners, Peter denied Him 3 times, yet Jesus made him Pope.
It’s the old divide and conquer strategy and it seems to be working very well.
Your loving witness will help to inform these people of the error, even though they may not admit it or even appreciate it. Ensure that they know about resources like CA so they can read about their faith in private, without intimidation from the PC world.
You should also read Sacred Scripture daily.
I also recommend reading the Catechism from cover to cover (I’m on my 3rd time through.) It ties together the Holy Scriptures, the early Church Fathers and Sacred Tradition while clarifying Church teaching on all areas of the Faith.
