Know your weaknesses. I made the stupid decision to wear my scapular to bed, however I sweat A LOT and someone turned the heat up. My scapular is now wet and smells awful, what is the best way to clean? It is from scapulars.com by the way, highly recommend

If it’s from Scapulars.com it’s probably very durable. Wash it with your dark colored laundry (like jeans and t-shirts) in the washing machine in cold water. Be sure to wash it with dark stuff that’s not your good work or dress-up clothes, just in case any dye runs. Do NOT put it in the dryer, just hang it up to dry.

I usually hand wash my scapular when it needs it, and then every few months I will put it through the washer. It’s not from Scapulars.com so it’s not as durable, but I’m planning to switch to Scapulars.com ones shortly.

It’s helpful to have a backup scapular or two so you can just put one on when you are washing your main one and waiting for it to dry. The Scapular blessing transfers to any scapular you put on, so you don’t have to worry about them being blessed.

I wear wool type scapular and I hand wash it in cold water with soap and squeeze it to get all the water out and then let it dry sitting up so the air can surround it. If it gets very bad or starts to fall apart, I get a new one. When I exercise I wear a metal scapular medal (which of course is approved - it was sent to me by the confraternity). One can also wear the metal scapular always instead.
