I’m a big fan of bowling: it’s cheap, it’s fun, and it’s even more fun with friends. I’m a member of my parish’s men’s club and we already have a yearly golf tournament with proceeds that go to scholarships. I ran the idea past them and they liked it, but I would have to be in charge of it: something I can’t take on at the moment because I’m in college at the moment and overwhelmed by homework.
If I created my own bowling club that admits everyone and focuses on faith sharing, socializing, and bowling rather than scholarships, I bet there would be far less paperwork involved. I don’t know how the bowling fees (game price, shoe rental) would work, but perhaps a raffle and membership fees would work.
If you lead a parish club, how much behind the scenes work do you have to do? I’d love to create this club, but I’m a pretty busy guy.
