How to discern the voice of God

I’ve been praying for quite some time in regards to furthering my education. I am a full time worker(I’m in Electronic Banking). I’m also married and run a household with my husband. I’m also currently in quite a bit of debt already so I’m not sure if taking on more loans would be a good idea. I would like to become Social Worker and work with chronically ill children and their families.
I have started the enrollment process, but have had a couple minor set backs thus far. I’ve always been I guess you could say ‘superstitious’ in that when something happens that is God either say go or stop. I’m wondering if these set backs and my uncertainty are signs from God to not pursue this. Or am I just paranoid?

Setbacks are a part of life.
How you handle them will make the difference in success or failure.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you daily and take it as it comes. Either things will fall into place, or it’s not the right time.
God wants you to THRIVE.
Sometimes it’s the same path that we want to take, sometimes it’s a totally different path.
But prayer is how you know. Prayers get answered. Remember though, sometimes the answer is “no”.
I’ll pray that in your case, the answer is a “yes”. The world needs compassionate social workers. God bless you.

Since it is a matter of conscious I reccomend you to talk it over a Catholic priest who will be your spiritual father.
