I agree with you. Some reactions seem to imply that the posters believe that the Pope has written them personally.

Are they actually even signed by him? The signature on the one we were given on our marriage looks like a facsimile to me.

I assume they are produced in bulk, with a printed signature, and then completed as and when.

I have read that some are produced bulk by a couple of book stores Rome. If you buy one, they will take it to the Vatican [with a batch of others I presume], have it blessed and send it to you. Note that they do not sell blessing, just the form and the service of getting it blessed and mailing it after it belongs to you.
