I’m a young adult myself-35. but I feel a real desire/hunger to evangelize young adults/my generation… but besides prayer and my example, what else can I do?

We also have EWTN and catholic radio and books, etc etc…

What about going door to door?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks…

There is an enormous need!
So many young adults (and all other adults too!) are hungry for more than pop culture.
Can you talk with your pastor about ideas? Maybe a combination social/prayer group would work well? It’s taking off like wildfire at my parish!

Have you checked to see if there’s a “theology on tap” in your area? That’s what they specialize in, it’s pretty cool too.

What it is basically is you get together at some pub or some place social, there’s usually a guest speaker, and then you just hang out and talk and have fun. The speakers usually give some sort of apologetic talk or something like that, it usually gets everybody pretty engaged, but it does depend on the speaker. It’s a non threatening environment, it’s helpful to get college age and even a little older excited about their faith who normally wouldnt. You might want to look into that!

And thank you for wanting to get involved in this area, there’s definitely a need. It seems to often there’s a lot for high schoolers, but after that were on our own.

Engage friends or acquaintances in discussions / debates about religion and read up as much as you can to answer their questions. Together with your example of faith and bringing them answers to things they may not understand you are helping them to get to know Our Blessed Lord …through you.

Let others see you ‘live’ your faith by helping those in need, showing how the power of prayer helps you, how much joy you have from attending Mass etc.

You are doing a great job already by the sounds of things.

May God bless you

Thanks for the mention of “theology on tap” I had no idea this was a Catholic event I thought it was Protestant.

Just curious, and I don’t mean to offend, but what definition do you use for young adult? I think 35 is pushing the upper limits on that one. It might change how you approach evangelization: are you doing it as a peer or as a mentor?

Generally young adults are defined between the ages of 18-35.
