How to get over a crush?

Hi guys, I’m not sure where to post this under Catholic Living so I’m choosing to post it here. I found out that a girl I really like is now dating and I’m not sure how to get over her. It’s difficult because 1) I fell for her hard 2) we have mutual friends, and 3) we’re friends as well. I’ve been reading some things online and the advice I’m getting is to minimize contact, cut off contact through social media or to do things to get her off my mind.

I don’t want to cut off contact because we’re friends and to minimize contact would be to stop showing to events and gatherings or go to very few. I could do things to get her off my mind but it’s all very painful for me right now. I know eventually I’ll get over her but right it now it hurts.

True. I have thought about it and it’s better than cutting her off. It’s just that I liked her alot. It’s gonna take a while to get over her. Maybe I should talk to someone about it?

So time starts now then? All these offshoot questions are coming to mind now like can I still be friends with her now that she’s dating and they like but it’s just my brain processing what’s going on.
