Hello friends. I have founded a Bible club at my school for all Christians (of course focused on Catholic principles), sponsored by a real cool Catholic teacher who also does confirmation classes at his parish. How do I recruit people for this club? How do I get sinful teenagers (not that I am an exemption) to want to join a Bible group? I can always post flyers and make an announcement in the broadcast, but those are the only ideas I have. Replies are much appreciated, God bless!

Create genuine friendships, find out what these teenagers would like to know about the faith, go out there and talk to them

Snacks. Especially if you want guys to come. If you want to get all fancy you can have snacks that correspond with the readings. Like gold fish for Jonah or you could butcher a lamp for Passover as a team-forming project [I jest]

But snacks might help.

I’ll buy a dozen donuts. Should I tell people that we will be having snacks? I don’t want people to just take a donut and leave.

Half the reason why I don’t join things is because I don’t know what to expect at them and im worried I will be put on the spot. If you had posters that included an outline of what you will do at each club I think that would help pull a lot of people out.
For example:
1:00-1:10 introductions
1:10-1:25 read bible passage
1-25-1:35 discuss passage in small groups
1:35-1:45 discuss in large group
1:45-2:00 snacks and socializing

Also since it’s teens make an Instagram/Facebook group and make posts on your school page advertising the meetings.

Just put the donuts in a place where they have to come in and walk obviously in front of people. That way they would look super awkward and rude if they came in, got a donut, and left. And, sure, tell them there will be donuts.

Even if they took a donut and left, it would be okay. They would come back for a donut and eventually, you could ask them to stay.

Food is the way to go. I’d like to think people would come to my party if I had no food, but that’s not realistic. All parties/gatherings need to have food to keep people.
