Jesus says in the New Testament that we will be judged by the amount of love (brotherly/sisterly love, not just marital kinds), but I heard on this forum that to get to Heaven you only need to stay in a state of grace to go to Heaven, so if you die in a state of mortal sin you go to Heaven. I read in a book somewhere that some people feel God’s love at the moment of their passing and if they choose to accept it, they get purgatory, but if they reject it the commit the Unforgivable Sin and go to Hell. I am so very confused, can anyone help me untangle this?

That’s correct: dying in a state of grace means that you have charity in your soul, or that you supernaturally love God. Jesus talking about having love for others, basically put, in part refers to something which would be impossible without supernatural love for God. To put it another way: loving others for the sake of loving God, in order for it to be salvific, is impossible unless you are in a state of grace.
… so if you die in a state of mortal sin you go to Heaven.
Hm? Did you mean to say that such a person would go to Hell?
