My friend was an atheist, she said she wants to become a catholic because she heard statistics that you are less likely to have depression and other mental health issues. I guess she wants it for the health benefits and although it’s not the best reason, it’s still a reason so I’m happy for her. I told her to read some of the bible, pray a little and maybe do a rosary if she feels ready. There isn’t a step to step guide so it’s kinda hard but does any one have any tips?

God bless, stay safe and wash your hands xx <3

How about giving her a book that’s easy to follow, with the basics, such as Catholicism for Dummies?

Being a Catholic is not a promise of freedom from depression or mental illness or physical illness. The teachers of that are preaching a heresy “health and wealth” gospel.

We are promised suffering, and that Jesus will accompany us in that suffering.

Might be good to have your friend talk to a priest.

Unfortunately we are in COVID-19 isolation, but as this too shall pass, when the time comes I would recommend your friend to go to Adoration, in that silence and with an open heart, it will fill the seeker with awe.
