NotTooSmart, I must agree not that I always convey my messages properly, but this posting of what MDK calls truth I just found dumbfounding. Just remember with out you heretics 😉 this would be a boring board. Now let me go get my pile of wood and stake with a little kerosene;)
If you’re dumbfounded, keep learning from the authentic teaching authority, God’s Catholic Church. Read the Catechism. It’s a great companion to that other Catholic document the Bible. If you more fully learn Catholicism, then you’ll more fully know Christ. If you know what Christ revealed about Himself to us, then you know authentic aspects of the Truth.

If you’re not persuaded by the truth of Christ and His Real and True Substantial Presence in the Holy Eucharist, then you will never be moved. At that point, you are not really looking for Christ, but some Christ substitute to suit yourself.
I absolutely love this last sentence.

You remind me of the guy here that told us all that Protestants were just “going through the motions”.

Or the person that told me that my church was a Brothel. Or the one who said I was possessed by demons.

We are obviously in the presence of prophets of God here.

You guys are your own worst enemies sometime. There really ought to be a Evangelization of Protestants 101 course that y’all should be required to take before posting here. Then we wouldn’t be treated to such delights as the above.

Seriously, I am going to stop posting in this thread before I lose my sense of humour.

I am not dumbfounded by truth. I am dumbfounded by your lighting of brushfires and fanning the flames. I am quite comfortable with God’s Church. Yup know and love the CC and my personal favorite the Holy Bible. I personally love God’s Truth and strive to learn from it everyday thank you very much. With how this started out you could of learned to state what you said with love and tact don’t give me the line of truth is love. Yes truth is love but does one need to slap one in the mouth in the process. No Christ did also teach compassion and love with his truth and yes he was also very direct at times.

Well if you’re tired of opposing the truth God has given for all of us, and you can only attempt slander of one sharing God’s truth with you, then you might as well go. You can go knowing that I forgive you.

I’ve haven’t told you any of those things above, but only the truth. Unless you do get the message at some point, you’ll never authentically know Christ as He taught. You could know the truth taught by God too, if you embraced God’s faith instead of protesting it. As you go, I’ll pray for you that you will know the authentic truth about the Truth.

Why then did you say you are dumbfounded by the truth presented here? If you can recognize it as truth, then why the slanderous tone? Actually, you are still ignorant of what is going on as you have made no effort to understand, but continued to misinterpret based on your own personal limitations. Sharing the truth about the Truth is indeed Love of another. Those who love truth will embrace what is said. Those who prefer their own version of “truth” will have a problem with what is said. Those who have offered heresy instead are doing no service at all to their fellow man. And if you love God, then why not honor His eighth Commandment, the one about not bearing false witness. You’ve done plenty of it here. I believe it was out of ignorance, and certainly forgive you.

As I thought I made clear it was the way you presented it. My tone has not been slanderous but a bit sarcastic. Sorry if I did not make that distinction clear. What have I misinterpreted? Yes sharing the truth is love but the way it was presented in tone with how it has been said does not sound like love to another. I know no other version of the truth but what the Bible, the CCC, ECF, and the Magesterium (sp?) of the Church. YOU accuse me of bearing false witness. Demonstrate how. I now demand proof. The other protestant denominations despite your belief do have a partial truth though some teachings are heterodox.

I don’t like doing this, but you removed any clarity you had with the phrase “but this posting of what MDK calls truth I just found dumbfounding.” Remember that, about an hour ago? It doesn’t take a scholar to determine that is not referring to style but referring to substance. It just takes honesty to admit such. Like I said, it’s evident you’ve spent no effort whatsoever trying to learn, but have just made accusations based on your own limitations. It’s much wiser to raise the bar, so our limitations are not so limiting. You have born false witness by your accusations and insinutations of my intent and the truth I have shared, because of your own limitiations in understanding. I don’t think it rises to a mortal sin, because it is out of ignorance. So, please go back and take another look if you need to, at what I have written and the ways you responded to that.

One should be enough, because it’s representative of what you’ve been doing:
Your quote “I am dumbfounded by your lighting of brushfires and fanning the flames.”

This is a very false representation, as that’s not what is being done. We could talk about the truth of the burning bush, but that’s not what you’re implying. You post derision here because you completely miss the real intent here, of the importance of truth in our lives, with no heresy about God. How much heresy is acceptable? Should we sacrifice truth in order to fit within your limits? Or, is it better that we seek to grow toward the truth of the Truth? Should we act as though the one telling truth is the problem, because those who prefer falsehood may not like it. Is that of Christ?

Well, since you did it again in your post quoted above, here is another false accusation of yours, as you claim “The other protestant denominations despite your belief do have a partial truth though some teachings are heterodox.”

It is expressly my belief that they have partial truth, but only partial and that’s the problem I’ve identified here, isn’t it. Hard to believe you’ve read any of this thread and come up with that type of quote. So, once again, you falsely accuse. This time it’s about me not believing Protestants have partial truth, which is the exact problem identified in this thread, for which people who love God must remedy. You’ve demonstrated exactly what I said about you, that your personal limitations have caused you to falsely accuse. As a fellow Christian, I forgive you.

Alright, I should of worded it better but whats done is done whatever. Poor wording and a little lack of thought on my part. I am not here to quibble about the substance. You wish to accuse me of not spending time learning but going off of my own limitations. You my good sir have know idea what I have and have not done or what my limitations are. Your intent may be good but completely wrong aproach IMO.

I am telling you by reading the thread that is how it is being taken. I do not miss the importance of truth in my life or how importiant it should be in anyones life. No heresy is acceptable but their is a difference between heresy and heterodox teachings. No we should not refrain from telling the truth. It would be much easier in life if all did that, but that does not mean that they need to be hit over the head with a iron mace with it.

Did what they do have a partial truth. Their teachings not all heretical but heterodox. This is a truth. Do you understand the difference between heretical teachings and heterodox. To help clairify

Ok now that I have blown a little steam we seem to agree they have a partial truth. Agreement. yaaaay. Yada yada yada more on my persieved personal limitations. I have just stated how it sounds my good Christian Brother. Sorry if I have derailed the thread a little. My biggest issue honestly was with how brash the openening op came out. I don’t think such a big hammer was needed.

I forgave you already. The fact is that words mean something, and beyond the fact that you were indeed attacking substance, your compliance with the idea of finding heretics and burning them was completely off course and indicates further a lack of understanding of what is being said. I do indeed know that when you consistently fail to understand something that I have done, it is due to your current limitation.
And this is exactly how this post has been taken by many.
I would be no compliment for one to be considered in that group of “many” which seem more to be basing their comments on familiar conditioning rather than an opening of their eyes yet.

Thanks, but really don’t need you to tell me how it’s being taken. I see ignorance enough to know when it’s there. You do lack a deep appreciation for the truth being conveyed. It’s evident in your words. It’s a bit arrogant also to try to explain the difference between heresy and heterodox teachings. If you would listen and learn, you would benefit yourself and could benefit those who come in contact with you as well. Depending on the area under discussion, some departures from standard beliefs are not wrong. That was obviously not what I was talking about. The issues I am talking about with concern are beliefs and faith systems that are not reconcilable with Catholic Doctrines, not simple rites or practices that are acceptable and not at odds with Christ’s doctrines. When God’s doctrines are being discussed, to depart from them (especially to conflict with them as found in all Protestantism) is not a matter of acceptable deviation from the standard. To say that doctrine which conflicts with Catholicism is just heterodox, is to be extremely ignorant of Christ and to be indiscriminate. Protestantism is not simply heterodox, but Protestantism is only able to be founded because of heresy, and often multiple heresies. The ignorant will say for instance that Protestantism is simply a valid departure from standard belief system, when this is far from true.

Another false accusation is to equate what I’ve done with hitting someone “over the head with and iron mace.” You still just don’t get it.
Did what they do have a partial truth. Their teachings not all heretical but heterodox. This is a truth.
Did anyone say all their teachings are heretical, or was that just something you assumed and then defended but was not in dispute? First, I have to ask again if you understand what this thread is about? Did you read the very first post, and attempt to understand it? It is expressly about the errors in doctrine, which can be measured by comparing one’s ecclesial community’s doctrines/beliefs with those of the standard which are Christ’s doctrines/teachings in His Catholic Church. If you study Protestantism, you’ll see the Protestant revolt took some truths taken from Catholicism (which had taught the truth of Christ for 1,500 years at that point in time, and has continued to this day, and will teach the fullness of revealed truth of Christ until the end of time), but the heretical men protested God’s one Church and started their faith systems based on some heresy along with some of this Catholic faith retained. Protestantism was never created by Christ, and was never intended by Christ. First and foremost, a split of doctrines/beliefs among those who love Christ it is in direct opposition to Christ made for us to be one. Protestantism starts by offending Christ.

Please try some measure of humility, to see what is being done and learn, rather than assuming incorrectly and error where one does not exist…

Congratulations on finally getting there to agree with partial truth issue, which if you read the first post, will see I have it clearly written, because it’s what I have long believed. However, the partial truth is not acceptable, even more so when we’re talking about God as we are here. It’s sad that following Christ and advocating for Him is considered brash. Society has arrogantly rejected Him, and accepted all kinds of false faith systems as valid heterodoxy. A hammer wasn’t used here, but the plain truth. To those on the wrong side, it may seem like a hammer. If someone’s house was on fire, would you do what you had to in order to wake them up and save their life, or gently pat their shoulder and when they didn’t respond, just let them sleep and let them die in the fire?
