How to not invite family members

If I had brothers like that, I wouldn’t invite them either. In fact, I had my problems with family being dysfunctional. When I was married to my ex-husband, his family never did take a likening to me and I never knew why and I couldn’t think of anything I did that was wrong. They just didn’t like me. I think it was cuz I took him away from them to where they couldn’t use him anymore for their own handyman work for them. Family sucks. They are your worst critics too.

You are under no obligation to invite anyone you do not want to invite, simple, period.

Do not mention the event to them.

In fact why would your husband want individuals who resort to violence and other malevolent acts (family or not) near him, his wife, or his children? I would cut off all contact with these family members and any other members who take their side.
