Ghosts are not real, demons do the ‘haunting’ or it is some type of natural thing going on. It is a good idea get your house blessed every year

If a person who has died is allowed by God to appear to those who live, it is because God wills it. I would not want to pemit that, because God wills it for some purpose.
If, on the other hand, the activity is demonic, you prevent anything from happening by staying out of mortal sin.

What is the sign of demonic activity? What is the difference between demonic activity and a person who have died coming?
