I don’t see this as “sealing the prophets” (to borrow an Islamic phrase).
I said that the doctrine that public revelation ended at the death of the last Apostle was not in the Bible, it was part of Apostolic Tradition.

Does this mean that Catholic doctrine states that the Book of Revelation was definitely written by the Apostle John and not someone else named John (who perhaps lived much later)?

I don’t believe there is any definitive doctrinal statement period.

The church has this to say on large families:

The church does not play the numbers game. It is not the church’s teaching that Catholics must procreate in order for the Catholic population to surpass that of other religions or cultures.

The teaching of the church has much more to say about generosity and seeing the conception and birth of a child as a blessing and a privilege. It is a participation in God’s fatherhood - the very furthest one can get from a subhuman irresponsible procreation.

In addition, ecological problems will never be solved by simply reducing the number of human beings on the planet. What is required in a change in attitude with regard to ecology and our shared responsibility for the environment.

God bless,
Ut
Good Afternoon Utunumsint; My statement that population races are ecologically unsound in no way suggests that population is the only environmental problem we face. It simply compounds it and exacerbates it. Our environmental challenges are multidimensional, broad and complex. But human populations are certainly a considerable component.

I don’t recall that I offered any opinion on what the position of the Catholic Church is on the matter. In fact, I am unaware that the Church has ever offered a suggested number of offspring one way or the other, however I am certain I have heard the Church fully promote being responsible for the offspring we do have.

All the best,
Gary

Of course, but it is certainly not a proven fact that reducing the population of the planet alone is the solution or even part of the solution.

I suggest that the quote I responded to from you is clearly in opposition to what the church teachers about large families in the catechism.
In fact, I am unaware that the Church has ever offered a suggested number of offspring one way or the other,
How then would you define a large family? What blessings do you think derive from having a large family?
however I am certain I have heard the Church fully promote being responsible for the offspring we do have.
Agreed. I made sure to quote the church’s teachings on what responsible parenthood does and does not mean in my previous post.
All the best,
Gary
All the best to you as well,
