Yes, this is a good article. If you want chant (the song proper to the Roman rite) in your parish, this may be the way to get it there. Just Do It, as the saying goes.
One thing that I would add, based on my own experiences, is that it may be better to begin with the seasonal propers from the Graduale Simplex rather than trying to learn new propers each week. Less, done well, is better than more, done badly, and that is especially true when introducing Gregorian chant to a parish. If the parish doesn’t hear it done well they won’t want it.
