The College of Surgeons and Physicians of Ontario said that Catholic doctors had to first, euthanize those who had a terminal illness and asked for it (using drugs), then they backed off and said they had to find a doctor who would if they would not for religious or moral reasons.

Five Catholic doctors are suing them, and good for them. They can designate one place and advertise it. On the other hand, I would not want to die a slow death with ALZ. I’ve seen it. It’s horrible.

My Mom was a regular Mother Theresa – why did she have to come down with it when she was a religious woman and the kindest person you could ever meet. She was selfless. My father, he was, is, and always will be the son of Satan, an he’s in good health.

This is what constantly says to me, there is evidence of God, but he doesn’t seem to care. If a computer can switch between a million different tasks in a second, why does he not reward people in this life? Nobody deserves to go through that. Catholic – my family was very C when I was young. Now, they’ve written her off. Nieces and nephews don’t visit her. I said, ‘are you Catholic?’ – if you are you cannot just write someone off. Well, she’s 93 they say. So when they get an expletive deleted from me, is that a sin or justified?

We are obligated to do as much as we can to comfort her. Doesn’t the Church say that family is obligated to look after a disabled sibling, anybody. Can someone find the exact verbiage. I can’t find it.

Why do you think God would be against it if it is inevitable anyway. Or someone who is so disabled – why should they suffer? I can’t say, if I get this, kill me, but I can say DNR. What’s the difference? Let a death happen vs. here, press this button a few times.

Doctors cheat death, so isn’t that against God’s will? We can cheat it, but not do the opposite when the patient is terminal anyway. We are more compassionate towards dogs than we are to humans.

You’ve answered your own question, letting someone die, because further treatment is useless, is not the same as taking action to kill someone.

One could even give increased dosages of pain killers, even if they had the side effect of shortening life, if the intent is to alleviate suffering, not to kill.
