As a newbie around here, I was looking at the Today’s Posts page and found that more than 50% of the threads there refer to the “Prayer Intentions” forum, so I went into some of those threads.
There, I encountered a few truly heartbreaking stories like, for example:
and many others…
Anything other than prayer seems to be discouraged on those threads, but I was wondering how these cases evolve, or are evolving.

I guess I’m not really looking to find out if the praying works or not (that was just a title suggestion by Michael Francis), I’m just asking in general if these problems that you guys bring forth are improving, or just how they are developing.

For example, how did that double lung transplant go? What’s the post-op of something like that?
It may still be too soon to ask about the suicidal friend, but… what’s going on in there? Anything else that can be done besides wishing for improvements?

For all cancer patients, what’s happening with them? Are they living their lives normally? are they getting some treatment? which? How does that treatment affect them?

And, ok, does knowing that you’re being prayed for by strangers help in dealing with those problems?

Greetings,
I posted quite some time ago for prayer intentions for a sister-in-law that needed a new liver. She received a new one after several false starts(thought they had one but wasn’t right for her for one reason or another). She has had this one for maybe close to 2 years now and is doing fairly well at the moment. She’s had a couple of set-backs where she had to be hospitalized for brief times-something to do with medication issues or something called pancreitus not quite sure. All in all though she is doing fine.
As far as knowing she was being thought of/prayed for by strangers I’ve never heard her make an issue of it one way or another. My wife told her that I had placed a prayer intention for her well being on this site as well as placing a similar request at a local catholic chapel that has a notebook for that purpose. She seemed very appreciative of those gestures. Blessings to you and yours.

Many times people post back and let us know the result of the prayers such as they were answered. I often post on the prayer threads.

Sometimes we don’t know but leave it in the hands of God that our prayers for God’s will to be done are heard and answered in His Way.

God Bless,

Mary.

I know personally prayers are answered and people prayed for me without my knowledge. I probably wouldn’t have returned to the Church without those prayers. I was that far gone over the edge. I thank God for all those who prayed for me and for Him sending the Holy
Spirit when He did!

Christians believe God hears ALL prayers. His response is in accordance with His plan and we humans just cannot conceive of His plan. So, when we pray, we need to be patient and trust in Him; God’s plan is ALWAYS better than anything we can come up with ourselves.

Most recent story of how prayer is answered: I met a young couple and the wife had a challenging pregnancy. Short story, her child should never have been born but, through God’s will, he was and is now approaching the state where he might be released from the NICU soon. A group of people from our parish knew of her challenges so prayed for her and her unborn child. WE BELIEVE! Thank you, God! 👍

Yes, sometimes but not always. If you post often on prayer thread and follow them eventually you’ll see one I bet.

God Bless,

Mary.
