How would you rate your attention span?

By the time I discover some new topics there may be dozens upon dozens of comments. I tend to read the first ten or fifteen but then usually decide the issue has been covered thoroughly for my own information. By this time I will also be aware of whether or not a poster’s question has been answered sufficiently and that nothing more need be said.

How long a thread of conversation do you normally stick with before moving on to another? Have you ever read an entire thread of several hundred posts in one sitting?

Depends on the subject and how many of my friends have posted. If it’s particularly long I’ll summarize the thread or skip to the end.
 
My attention span is worse since the invention of the internet. It would be worse still if I played video games.
 
There are some very long threads on this forum. The evolution thread would almost be summer book reading material. There are some great threads I enjoy following, and others that, despite the christian nature of this forum, have descended into decidedly non christian attitudes. Those threads are good practice in not watching the train wreck. Scroll on by as they say. My attention span is related to the nature of the thread.

Some of the long ones are like seeing a car crashed on the side of the road. You just hafta look! 😉

Some of them just start repeating answers after a while. You know, like people haven’t bothered to even read the other posts and say the same thing as 10 other people. Sometimes they even admit they haven’t read the thread and then go on to say the same thing that has been said 11 times before.

It is about that time that I mute or adjust to normal setting.

Now a good dumpster fire…that might be worth sticking around for. 😏
 
I have a short attention span, and any thread that goes hundreds of posts is most likely either uninteresting to me (the End Times thread is a good example) or is a total dumpster fire that I muted by the time it got to post 10.
 
When anything slips quickly from my mind I tell my husband," my brain is a flashlight in a tunnel. I only see where it was pointed last".
