Hello everyone!

I posted a very long time ago (in the Eastern Catholicism section accidentally) regarding my religious search and eventual settling on Eastern Orthodoxy (OCA). Back when I was still exploring Catholicism I found this site, and was very thankful for all the information here, as it aided me (along with prayer, and a lot of hard work) to bring where I am today as a catechumen!

My question is this: I still read a lot of the posts here because I notice a relatively strong Orthodox presence. Is there a similar kind of website for Orthodox folks? I tried doing some internet searches and couldn’t really find anything. I do visit Ancient Faith Radio, which is a lovely site, but it’s more about the podcasts, and some of the Orthodox websites I have visited are half-functioning, in that they have many sections missing in the Q and A’s.

For those of you that are Orthodox, do you feel that Catholic answers forums is edifying? Do you wish for a similar Orthodox site? Feel free to sound off! 🙂

I shall try to be better about responding to posts than I was last time, though I am a young college student 😃 busy busy busy!

On a more random note, I must say, it is hard being in the Pacific NW sometimes, not a lot of Orthodox my age around here! Olympia WA, particularly The Evergreen State College. I am however thankful to God, for I have a wonderful parish!

Really? I find that surprising! I hope you will find some soon but, in the meantime, revel in the fact that the faith includes people of all ages. 🙂

TheosisM beat me to it. I can vouch for the forum’s usefulness. Someone recently asked via PM for an Orthodox forum, and I linked them to that one.

I have in general found that most churches I go to seem to lack people my age. I’m in my mid-20’s, and though there are the occasional college kids, most of the people in the liturgy-attending community are fairly advanced in age.

Actually I once made a joke to someone that finding a wife at church is difficult: all the single women are either under 18 or over 50.

Happy you found a good parish, though.
 
Oh man, this site is wonderful, I’m reading a post about the prayer rule!! I’ve been having trouble with this, consistently praying and such. This is exactly what I needed right now, thank you so much!!
