HRM Monks evacutaed from LA fire area

The monks at Valyermo both Latin and Romanian have left due to the fires. The Romanian monks become guests of the Norbertine Canons at a parish of theirs at Costa Mesa. All the monks are safe it would appear in various temporary accommodation. The Fire perimeter was 5 miles to the south west when the monks left.

Many of you will know the monks. Several of them appear in Catherine’s interviews on YourWordFromTheWise. Fr. Maximos and Fr. Abbot Nicholas are also frequently on Light of the East Radio.

Prayers for the monks. I have heard indirectly through Fr. Maximos that both the HRM monastic community and the Benedictines are safe.
