This weekend both my hubby and I came down with something awful. I feel like I’m getting better but he’s as miserable as ever which unusual for him. He went to the Dr. this morning (I drove because he was dizzy and feverish) apparently he’s got bad form of influenza the kind that can kill you if not treated. He has to stay off work all of this week and they gave him an Rx. I have to go the Dr. this afternoon, they want to do a chest xray to see if I have it too.
This is probably the most sick I’ve seen my husband in the 17 years I’ve know him. If you could say a prayer for his health I’d greatly appreciate it.
God Bless.

Said prayers for both of you. Hope this passes quickly and that you both feel better very soon.

hi rayne, I understand what you are going through. DH had a very bad case last week and it lasted for 4 days. I was ready to take him to the ER on a Sunday because he was up all night w/no sleep doubled over in abdominal pain I felt so helpless because I couldn’t do a thing for him except pray. I could totally relate to his suffering because of what my illness does to my gut.

I hope your stomach is doing ok through all of this and you are able to drink fluids and eat even if it’s soft and mushy until the bug gets out of your system.

Both of you will be in my prayers.
God bless~Lisa

I’ll pray for you and your DH, Rayne. Hope everything gets better soon. :gopray2:

There’s some nasty stuff going around. Here in NY, I’ve heard of three people in the last two weeks that have pneumonia, including my father-in-law. (who finally went to the doctor last week  ) Must be the change of seasons or something.

Thank you all for your prayers. I have pretty much gotten over the flu except for a cough and feeling generally wore out. My hubby is still pretty bad but I can see some improvement; I think he’s turned the corner on this thing. He actually got sick Friday and it’s now Wednesday and he’s still pretty rough around the edges.

It’s pretty weird because I’m usually the one with the bad immune system. My husband has never been sick for more then a couple days. I was lucky, my Dr said if I had gotten it as bad as my hubby she would have put me in the hospital because of my heart problems.

Lisa- actually my Crohn’s has been greatly improving over the last few weeks and this virus didn’t seem to upset it -thankfully. I did have the nausea related to the flu but I don’t think it worsen my Crohn’s at all.

I didn’t know this but they can check to see if you have a just plain old cold or the flu virus by simply swabbing your nose. If they catch it early these’s this RX med called Tamiflu that’s an anti-viral medication that can help. Just thought I’d pass that along.

Thank you all again for your prayers! God Bless!

My husband and I were both very sick from December 24rth right throgh to January 15th. We were both so really ill. I was sicker than
he was. I had a terrible case of bronchitis. I coughed so hard that I
popped a muscle in my right rib cage, and the pain was excruciating
let me tell you! The pain took 3 weeks to go away 😦 I have never been that sick for over 10 years! Not something I want to have back let me tell you! It was a very bad flu season here! My husband recently was sick again about a month ago, and it lasted 4 days.
I didn’t get it and Iam grateful for that! We never had fevers with the bronchitis, but we had a terrible terrible cold to boot! I completely
lost my sense of smell for about 10 days 😦 Couldn’t even taste
food properly! fortunately, we didn’t really lose our appetites to
much. Another thing to be grateful for! I hope you both get better soon!

I did that a few years ago Marilena! My mom took me to the ER because she thought I might have a broken rib. Just a muscle, but it hurt like just horrible. I had to take more time off work just for that

this winter has been bad for stuff like that. people I know who never get sick are even dropping like flys. if I get sick in a given winter myself which averages every 2 to 3 years Ill either get the stomach flu, bronchitis, or laryngitis, or a bad cold. I had all the above plus and ear infection and pneumonia, all in aboutr a month and a 1/2 time… you are in my prayers and hang in there, spring is coming, just in time for the flu to be traded for allergies!:crying: ohwell.
