My daughter returned home this evening from a day in college. She said her human biology class ( about 150 students) were asked if they thought embryonic stem cell research was OK. Being such a large class in an auditorium like room they used their ‘clickers’ or RF response system keypads to answer. Almost immediately they knew that.

You get the picture?

Embryonic or Adult stem cell research? Did they specify? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the latter…

My mistake.
Embryonic

Since I can’t edit my above post anymore:
The poster clarified this was embryonic stem cell research in an edit after I asked. I’m not totally blind 😛

I’m actually kind of impressed that 1 in 10 people thought it was wrong. That’s kinda high for this day.

Of course 72% thought it was OK. They’ve been media-washed. 😦 How are they to learn the truth? They won’t learn it in a college biology class, obviously!

Unfortunately, people seek the truth in intellectual things, rather than spiritual. People who claim to have found the truth in spiritual things are tagged ‘extremists’ or ‘fanatical’ and brushed off as unintelligent. fun world eh?

PS legeorge; I like your sig. I try to carry my cross everyday.

When the media rave-on about the advantages and benefits of stem cell research they never talk about ADULT SCR. The media continue to imply that embryos hold the key to the future.

“One is that all such work involves only embryonic stem cell research (ESCR). A second is that ESCR is the only stem cell research that can aid the treatment of certain types of diseases, and that opposing this type of research will deny unique benefits to those in need. The third myth is that the Roman Catholic Church opposes all stem cell research.”

A couple of years ago, Jerry Lewis had on a couple of researchers who had some SPECTACULAR FINDINGS doing Adult Stem Cell Research during his MDR telethon.

He did this, because he knew that they wouldn’t get any publicity otherwise.

We’ve got to find a way to get the truth about the advances, treatments and cures that are being found almost weekly by researchers doing ASCR in order to counteract the publicity machine that’s pushing ESCR and FSCR.

I believe the Internet and the “Blogosphere”, or the “New Media” hold the key to that. That’s how people are bypassing the MSM now…

Blessed are they who defend the most Powerless of all, Michael

The problem is that any stem cell research news is portrayed as “embryonic”. It seems like every news story on the MSM about a new development or success in adult stem cell research is spun into being about embryonic stem cell research. I saw a blatant case of this happening on the Today Show. They promoted an upcoming segment by saying “embryonic stem cell research may hold key to curing diabetes”. Then, the actual story was about a man who had been given stem cell therapy derived from cells taken from an *adult cadaver * and no longer had to use insulin. That was purposely misleading! Then, they justified promoting ESCR by saying that there was a shortage of cadavers available!
