Does anyone know where I can find an online explanation of Humani Generis? So many big words, and me, with my little bitty brain…

🙂

Thanks!

I know exactly how you feel… My dictionary has the place of honor. Even so, there are some sections which need to be read in context with other sections.

Which sections of Humani Generis are you interested in?

Note: Please check this Sticky: Temporary Ban on Evolution/Atheism Threads

My apology. But I am not sure how certain science sections of Humani Generis would be affected by this ban.

Blessings,
granny

The human person is worthy of profound respect from the moment of conception.

My daughter is required to read and understand Humani Generis for a Biology exam for her online Catholic high school program. So, I though I’d better read it so I could explain it to her.

Not too helpful, I’ve been. I tried to find an explanation online, but my initial search just kept directing me back to the document.

I’m not looking for a discussion just a translation of Popespeak.

I’ll read the two references here and try to figure it out. Thanks a lot!

Popespeak depends on biological speak.😃

My first suggestion is to read her biology textbook, especially the sections for the test. Do footnotes reference Humani Generis and how so? There should be some simple key words or phrases which would indicate that Humani Generis is important. For example, hominids such as Homo sapiens, pre-human ancestors, populations, human origins, genetics, evolutionary theory, “Out of Africa” theory and so on. Is there any reference to the difference between scientific findings and Catholic dogma, specifically Adam and Eve as sole parents of the human species?

Since this is for a biology exam, my next suggestion is to check Humani Generis, sections 35-37. I am not ruling out other sections. Depending on the biology text, there could be other important sections which should be studied.

My apology, but out of respect for the current ban, I prefer to answer your questions on my thread in Back Fence Forum. This can be done within the context of the OP.
