Fellow Catholics, in your personal journeys with Christ and our Blessed Mother, what are some ways you have grown in the virtues of humility and meekness?

When someone makes you angry or even humiliates you and you remain silent, joining your humiliation with that of Christ in his humiliating Passion.

The litany of humility is so powerful I would recommend reciting this.

God bless you

This is a slightly different approach, but I would say openness and honesty is one way to practice humility if you’re a rather meek person like I am. Telling the truth about who you are is humility, because humility is having an accurate assessment of yourself not thinking you are greater or less than. So being honest about little stuff like:

telling my hairdresser I use box dye when I know she wouldn’t approve, and other situations when I’m afraid of disapproval.

Not exaggerating to make myself seem better than I am

Not making excuses about why I haven’t done something

Being honest about your motivation for doing things

Not saying you don’t care or it doesn’t matter if it does

Just my 2¢

I have noticed that almost all Christians say: “I am a sinner”, but few manage to say: “Yesterday I was rude to you, sorry” 🙂
