“Dematerialization of matter” is an absurd phrase. To make sense of it I suppose one must use one definition of matter in the first word and another definition in the other.

But anyway, the fact is that some particles have mass and some do not. It’s quite right to try to figure out why.

I do not understand this at all. How was the greatest achievement of science the “dematerialisation of matter?” How is it not something like Kepler’s laws, Newton’s laws, Einstein’s GR, or any number of other results from other branches of science?

And how is it that this “dematerialisation” is being put back together with dark matter, hidden matter (whatever that is), anti-matter, and the Higgs boson–all of which are entirely disparate:

• dark matter is the hypothetical particle that allows galactic rotation curves to remain flat instead of decreasing with radius
• anti-matter is a normal particle that has opposite spin and charge (i.e., an electron and positron have charges -e and +e respectively),
• the Higgs boson is a sub-atomic particle that, primarily, gives mass to other bosons

I think your assertion needs a lot of refinement before it can be intelligently debated.

you could be right by first realising that you dont really think but think you think - you must first realise and accept that there is no matter no matter who says or thinks they think so - its existence is an illusion and a bluff if you wish to continue in this refined ,redefined and intelligent debate - winc

The Latin word materia is the root of the word “material” as well as “matter.” The idea of dematerialized matter is, at least on the surface, like that of dehydrated water.

I have never been able to not think. Even when trying to clear my mind, I still have a million thoughts running through my brain. I have been able to hold my breath for up to 80 seconds (when I was an in-shape swimmer about 10 years ago, it is closer to 40 seconds now), so I certainly can stop breathing, at least temporarily.

For a Catholic, you advocate some strange positions (atomism, namely).

I have been able to hold my breath for up to 80 seconds (when I was an in-shape swimmer about 10 years ago, it is closer to 40 seconds now), so I certainly can stop breathing, at least temporarily.
