I think I can safely say that Catholics believe in science, common sense, reason, logic and philosophy too, so you are in good company as a Catholic. We don’t give up our reason or common sense in order to believe in God. On the contrary, we use our rationality to understand who and what God is.
Check out Christian theologians, philosophers and scientists like Aquinas, Augustine, Peter Kreeft, William Lane Craig, Bishop Robert Barron, Scott Hahn, John Lennox, Tim Staples and Gary Habermas, and they’re just the tiniest tip of a huge iceburg.

Yes…but I also feel like us young adults are unwanted and unwelcomed at parishes…and btw…Im Queer and I don’t agree with Catholic teachings on contraception, and gay marriage and masturbation…and I don’t believe in natural law…and a lot of catholicism is based on plato and paganism…

You are mistaken about much of what the Church ACTUALLY teaches on things, and not simply what you think it may teach.
If interested, find a priest to chat with in real life.
There is nothing pagan about Catholicism. It’s based on the teachings of Christ, the Incarnate Son of God.

You’re a believer in science but you don’t believe in natural law? That seems to be an oxymoron.
You’re wrong about Catholicism being based on Plato and paganism. Plato was extremely important in the philosophical world, and he no doubt influenced the thinking of Christian theologians. St. Augustine, for example, said “The utterance of Plato, the most pure and bright in all philosophy, scattering the clouds of error . . .” But Christianity is based on the teachings of Jesus. The first Christians were Jews who probably had never heard of Greek philosophy.
As for paganism, by which I assume you mean pre-Christian religions, the writers of the Old Testament go to great lengths to show how their (our) God is not at all like the gods of other peoples. However, I’m not going to go into that now.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that you haven’t really studied your Catholic faith. May I suggest you find out exactly what Catholicism is before you decide you don’t want it. On YouTube you’ll find some great videos of RCIA classes, I found some by the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception very good.

I got confirmed a few years back…2-3 years ago…but I now consider secular humanism to be a better and more realistic and more plausible worldview than Catholicism…

I’m not sure what you want from us Jay. You posted in the Prayer Intentions forum but you don’t say what you want prayers for. Are you determined to stay with your current philosophy or do you want help getting back? If the latter, I’ll certainly pray for you. If the former, you might want to try posting in the Philosophy forum. And I’ll still pray for you.
